a2 Milk™ is healthy cows’ milk with a difference – it’s naturally free from the A1 protein that many people struggle to digest. It’s gentle on sensitive tummies, easy to digest and less likely to trigger symptoms often associated with lactose intolerance. That’s why we say “ordinary on the outside, extraordinary on the inside”.
a2 Milk™ is difference because our cows are different. Originally all cows’ produced milk with only A2 protein. Over time, some cows evolved and started to produce the A1 protein in their milk that can cause digestive problems. Fortunately, there are still plenty of A2 cows out there and it’s these cows that we specially select to make our easy to digest a2 Milk™.

Less than 5% of the UK are lactose intolerant. More common is an intolerance to the A1 protein found in regular cows’ milk which often causes similar symptoms to lactose intolerance.
A revelation for IBS sufferers
A simple switch to a milk that is free-from the A1 protein could help many IBS patients manage their symptoms. Many people say that their IBS symptoms get worse when they have milk and often self-diagnose or consider themselves lactose intolerant.
Registered Dietitian with the British Dietetic Association and co-author of the new IBS guidelines comments: “Some people with IBS still report problems on consumption of lactose free milk, suggesting it could be a reaction to the A1 beta-casein protein in this group of individuals”
